Today we are celebrating international yoga day.We all are very proud of our rich cultural heritage. Let's look back. Aadi Yogi imparted knowledge of yoga to Devi Parvati. Yoga is symbol of Shiva and Shakti. First reference to yoga has been found in Rigveda. Great sages through their wisdom and spiritual practices have enumerated the art of yoga for common people for their benefit. Maharshi Patanjali has to be given due credit for spread and propagation of yoga. He put the vast knowledge of yoga in "Yoga Sutras". He gave guidelines on how to practice yoga for common people.
Today let's thank them all for the contribution to the mankind. Let us solemnly resolve to march towards happy, healthy and balanced life.
Yoga has been restricted to yoga asanas and breathing exercises these days. In fact study of yoga incorporates "Ashtanga Yoga Sadhna". Practice of yoga asanas, breathing techniques, meditation and niyam lead us to higher levels of yoga.
In today's busy lifestyle yoga is need of the hour. While performing yogasanas we should not focus only on superficial benefits but dwell deeper in our consciousness to improve spiritual awareness.
We all have been exposed to this practice sometime or the other. If we keep few tips in your mind then this journey is going to be pleasurable experience and impart additional dimension to the life.
Few tips are -
- Visualize a happy and healthy life
- Our body needs to exercise at least one asana from each group for maximum benefit while performing yoga asanas our focus should be on our body movement the subtle changes after each move
- When we take a deep breath we should experience the flow of energy and vibrations
- After every session we feel peaceful and satisfied
- Yoga is a science of self experience. As we consistently progress in a yogic practices secrets of yoga get revealed
- We can observe change in our personality outlook towards life and energy levels in the body once we start experiencing them we derive ultimate bliss.
We may try a short meditation session everyday after our yoga practice -
- Sit quietly with closed eyes
- Focus on incoming and outgoing breathes with complete awareness
- Concentrate deeply on the center of eyebrows, visualize the full moon and go through cosmic experience
- In this meditative state send positive energy to the entire world
- Pray for well being of everyone, their health and happiness
- Visualize we all have come out of pandemic situation
- Feel the halo of peace and happiness around our body and mind. Get inspiration for future sessions
- Bow down to Universal Life Force Energy and conclude the meditation session
